WHY SHOULD WE AS EFFECTIVE ELT PRACTITIONERS HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL OUR STUDENTS?
Because we need our students to understand that they are very important in the classroom, they have to feel comfortable in the classroom wiht the enviroment on it. Also, we encourage our students and to make them believe that they have the potential and the ability to do things they think they can not do.

HOW COME WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE THEM TO OUR STUDENTS?
As good practitioners our job it´s not only have expectations about our students, but also to let our students know what we expect of them, i think we can transmit our students these expectations by comunicating to them because if our students know what is expected of them, they could work in a better way in order to show teachers that they are capable to get or achieve what the teacher expects of them.

 HOW DO WE DO THAT?

I think that we do that when we talk to our students and to get engañe ourself to help students to success not only in the classroom but also out of the classroom, when we congratulate improvement of students, it could be when they get a good grade or prize them when they achieve a goal.

HOW DO WE SUPPORT THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR LEARNING EXPECTATIONS?
We support our students when we make them to get the goals working not only using what the teacher teaches or says in the classroom but also on their own because it´s the best way our students can discover how skillful they are. When students try to understand and analize something on their own, they could find that they the potential to get what they think it´s impossible amd that the teacher is just a person who guides them to be successful.
HOW DO WE DEMONSTRATE THAT WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR STUDENTS' LEARNING?
We demonstrate that we are responsible for our students´ learning when we get ready for every singles class by preparing our lesson plan, when we look the better tools to develop an interesting class, when we motivate students, when we make our students to feel comfortable in the classroom, by creating rapport, when we try to solve our students´ needs, when we show them that the teacher is not only a person who wants they learn, but also a person who wants they success.

MY DAPA WARM UP ACTIVITY
Description
1.      I began my warm-up activity at 1.30 p.m.
2.     First, I greeted my students and asked them how they felt that day.
3.      Then, I said them the purpose of the activity.
4.      After that, I gave them instructions:
  • First, students had to make to lines in the classroom.
  • Then, i told them that i was going to say a sentence to the person who was at the end of the line and they had to pass the message to the person next to them whithout any change on it and finally the person in the beginning of the line had to run quickly and write the sentence.
  • The line or the group who wrote more sentences was going to be the winner, but first i gave them an example.
5.      i asked if they had understood what they were going to do.
6.   One student told that he had understood so i explained it again.
7.      two students aswered me on their mother tongue, and i said dont worry it´s o.k you have understood.
8.      then, students were in two lines and they were passing a message and the person at the beginning of the line had to write the sentences.
9.      The persons who wrote quickly the sentence right got a point.
10.  some students did not work on the activity, but most of them did it.

MONITORING STUDENT PROGRESS AND POTENTIAL

WHAT'S THE RELEVANCE THAT FEEDBACK AND HOMEWORK HAVE FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHERS?

For me, they have a valious relevance because you know nowaday students don´t like to work so much in the class and some of them don´t enjoy the class neither the activities like warm-ups nor  other kind of activity you as a teacher develop in the class so, you can apply some homework for students to work better this when students don´t work in the class or don´t participate on activities. when we find students like these who don´t enjoy working in the classroom we as future teachers could apply these techniques in order to they can develop the topic in a different way so we can provide homework assessments to create interest in them to study.

The relevance that the feedback has is that a person who is receiving feedback, it gives him/her a clearer idea of how well they are doing the work and how they might improve. So we can say that feedback not only helps students to improve, but also it helps teachers to notice where students are having problems in order to solve these problems in a better way to facilitate leaning and achievement.

When students are facing problems with a topic, teachers should apply feedbacks in order to motivate students to get solutions to their doubts or problems with the subject because it helps students to clarify doubts and problems with the teaching and learning process, also it could help them to reinforce their knowledge about a topic or the subject.

Every teacher has purposes and when he/she notices that goals are not being achieving he/she has to make use of feedback when knowledge is not transmitted or the topic is not clear for students the use of it could be really important because students could clarify doubts by it.

Sometimes it´s important and even crucial to apply feedback because it is a tool for effective teachers they apply when lesson plans are not working correctly.

Effective teachers know that homework is crucial to motivate and satisfy students learning needs and also to motivate them to work not only in the classroom, but also at home; we as teachers need to show students that working in the class is not enough to success in the teaching and learning process so they have to work at home. Moreover homework or extra-class helps teachers to notice if students have caught not pretty well, but caught the idea of a topic.

Also, teachers have to develop strong bonds of friendship with parents and to motivate them to check students´ books and notebooks every day in order to make students responsible with their tasks.

WHY DOES ASSESSMENT PLAY A CENTRAL ROLE IN TEACHING?

*      Because teachers can notice if they are working right or doing things well if not, they could look for changes and to modify lesson plans.

*      It helps teachers to see if students have learned a topic.

*      Assessing the students is an opportunity to know if our teaching is effective or not.

*      It helps to check which students like to work out of the classroom also, to check which students are having problems and which have understood well a topic.

WHAT ARE SOME EFFECTIVE WAYS OF MONITORING STUDENT PROGRESS?

*      Assess students frequently.
*      Using projects for a topic
*      Dramas
*      Doing portfolios
*      Assessments that monitor progress on specific skills, mainly reading.
*      Discussions
*      Quizzes

HOW THIS MANAGEMENT PARAMENTER WILL EMPOWER MY OWN TEACHING AND LEARNING STYLE?

WELL, I THINK THIS MANAGEMENT WILL EMPOWER MY TEACHING AND LEARNING STYLE   BECAUSE STUDYING THIS TOPIC, I COULD LEARNED MANY IMPORTANT ASPECTS I WILL TRY TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT IN MY OWN TEACHING PRACTICUM.

FIRST, I LEARNED THAT ROUTINES ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO FALLOW AN ORDER AND TO CONDUCT OUR STUDENTS IN A GOOD AND AN EFFICIENT TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS.

ALSO, I LEARNED THAT ROUTINES ARE THE BACKBONE OF DAILY CLASSROOM LIFE. THEY FACILITATE TEACHING AND LEARNING, THEY SAVE VALUABLE CLASSROOM TIME. AND WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT, EFFICIENT ROUTINES MAKE IT EASIER FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN AND ACHIEVE MORE.

I CAN SAY THAT WHEN YOUR ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES ARE CAREFULLY TAUGHT AND VERY STABLISHED IN THE CLASSROOM, STUDENTS KNOW WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEM AND THEY WILL KNOW HOW TO DO CERTAIN THINGS ON THEIR OWN:

FOR EXAMPLE, EACH TEACHER AND EACH CLASSROOM IS DIFFERENT; CLASSROOMS ARE SUCCESSFUL WHEN TEACHERS HAVE EFFECTIVE ROUTINES FOR:
    • ENTERING THE CLASSROOM
    • WHERE STUDENTS SIT
    • CHECKING WHICH STUDENTS ARE PRESENT IN CLASS
    • LATENESS TO CLASS
    • GIVING OUT EQUIPMENT AND BOOKS
    • HOW STUDENTS CAN MOVE AROUND THE CLASSROOM
    • WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES

implementing instruction

HOW CAN TEACHERS IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION IN THEIR   CLASSROOMS AND MAKE THEM CONDUCIVE TO MEANINGFUL LEARNING?

Well, I think that teachers can implement effective instructions in their classrooms by some ways for example when they are planning their lesson plans because it is important to have and to plan the instructions in advance in order to develop and to teach effectively. When teachers prepared and plan their instructions in their lesson plans they know what to do at the time of teaching.

As teachers we should know that it is important to plan and prepared our instruction in the lesson plans because when we plan and we prepare what to do in class at the time of teaching we will know what to do.

Doing this could help teachers to develop and to be successful in their classes because if we prepare and plan what to do in class we will find easy and effective our teaching.

WHY IS COMMUNICATION OF CONTENT AND SKILLS KNOWLEDGE A CHARACTERISTIC OF GOOD TEACHERS?

Communication of content and knowledge of good teachers is a characteristic of good teachers because if we are prepared enough and we know how to communicate in the target language effectively students could understand easily and effectively our instruction may be not only the instructions, but also they understand and learn easier.

If teachers have and know how to communicate to their students is a good way to motivate our students not only to learn, but also to make feel them comfortable in the class.

HOW ARE YOU DEALING WITH STUDENT ENGAGEMENT IN YOUR OWN TEACHING PRACTICUM, AS THE AGE OF YOUR STUDENTS IS A CRITICAL ONE?

Well, in my teaching practice I do and develop activities that help students to learn a new topic; moreover, I do it to motivate them to learn in a funny way.
That is the way I use to deal with students engagement in my teaching practicum.

ORGANIZING FOR INSTRUCTION

HOW DO YOU FOCUS ON INSTRUCTION?

Well, as my teacher works based on a book called everything 1B so I work based on it.
As I said I work based on the book that my teacher uses but making some changes I think are more appropriate for students understand in a better ways, so I focus instruction based on the book but developing my activities in different ways.

HOW DO YOU MAXIMIZE INSTRUCTIONAL TIME?
Every class I develop I try that all my students work based on my lesson plan not just working on the book so I ask them to write what I teach on their notebooks.

At the beginning of the class I greet students, and then I ask them how they feel at that moment. After that I develop my warm-up trying that all my students participate on it.

I always ask them about the last class, I mean I develop a feedback to know if they remember something about the last class.

If I have to teach a new topic I explain it or if I have to continue teaching the same topic I do it. I ask students to work on the exercises I assign them and at the end I assign them homework.

HOW DO YOU EXPECT STUDENTS TO SUCCESS IN YOUR CLASSES?
I expect my students to success in many areas for example in writing, listening, speaking and in reading because sometimes they have problem with one of them so I expect and I help students to solve all kind of problem they can have with one of these skills. When they have grammatical problems I help them to solve it. Also, I expect all of the students learn in an easy way so I search the sources can help students to learn easier.

HOW DO YOU PLAN AND PREPARE FOR INSTRUCTION?

I plan and prepare my sources in advance because when you as a teacher do it, it helps you to teach in an easy and in effective way. So I prepare my teaching in advance by searching information, planning the class, choosing pictures to teach better.
When you plan and prepare your classes you have some advantages for example:
Ø      You teach better
Ø      You don’t waste your time
Ø      You can clarify doubts easier
Ø      Effective teaching

DO YOU MAKE LAST-MINUTE CHANGES WHEN THINGS ARE NOT WORKING?
Yes, I do, I make some changes when the activities I assign are not working.

BASED ON WHAT PREMISES HAVE YOU MADE SUCH CHANGES?

When activities are not working I made some changes with something that comes to my mind at the moment in other cases, most the time I have a plan B which I apply when one my tasks is not working.
DID THEY WORK?
Yes, they did, most the time they work because when a task is not working and I’ve made some changes they got me better results.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO BETTER YOUR INSTRUCTION? CONSIDER YOUR ATRIBUTES AND AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT IN YOUR OWN TEACHING

Attribute:
*      I like to be responsible because I always be on time in the classroom.
*      I like to better everyday
*      I like to talk to my students to activate schemata.
*      I like to develop enjoyable activities to my students.
*      I like to share what I know to others
*      I like to share ideas.

AREAS I NEED TO IMPROVE

¨      Some skills such as speaking and listening.
¨      I need to regulate my tone of voice.

classroom management and organization

Well, in my way of thinking this chapter is very important because it shows how important is teachers prepare and plan for the organization of the classroom as they design an effective lesson.
An effective teacher is able to create a good classroom management and to prepare a great classroom organization.
As teachers we have to be proactive about student behavior, also we need to involve them in the process of stablishing and maintaining rules and routines.
Teachers should be organized in terms of routines, behaviors and materials in order to develop an effective teaching and learning process.
This topic is very important because if you are a novice teacher reading this chapter you can know some aspect we need to take into account befor teaching.

After reading the chapter  three, i have analyzed and i think that i knew something about this topic which is very important to take into account because if you as a teacher have a good classroom organization you know your students could learn easily and for sure they migth work in a better way. Picture this, if your students know rules and routines they must follow they will show a good behavior.
But as i know in our country we can not have a good classroom organization because in most public school they have just boars and desks but as good teachers we need to organize our classes for students understand in a better and an easy way.

well, in my teaching practices i will try to know my students and to creat a good rapport and then, we will try to stablish some rules and routines they will have to follow and to respect during my classes in order to make an effective teaching and leaning process. Also i will try to maintain the discipline by creating good lessons this because from now on i won´t allow my students to waste time.

chapter 2 teacher as a person

SOCIAL INTERACTIONS.

I think this is a good way to know our students expectations and to show them that they are not just our students that we can be more than their teachers. also, as teachers we need to help them to resolve their problems and that we can help them.

It is good to help our students and to show them how much we apreciate them so, the teacher can show it by social interactions for example:
- teachers can use some strategies to interact with their students.
- they have to show interest on what students say o think.
- teachers need to have good sense of humor and they have to share jokes with their students in order to create a good rapport.
- teachers have to be willing to help students
if teachers develop theese kind of interactions they will contribute to students learning and increase student self steem.

well, i think social interactions could create a good rapport with students because they feel very motivated when they share with teach

ROLE OF FAIRNESS AND RESPECT
It is very important to demonstrate our students that we want all of them that we have no preferences because all of the students need teachers to treat them equitably and teachers should avoid demonstrations of favoritism. As teachers we need to show that all of them are our students, friends and that we could help them without favoritism, we must give equal treatment to our students.

The most important thing that as teachers we must not do is to discriminate students only because their race, color, backgrounds and gender.
You know if you respect your students they will respect you, as teachers we have to offer our students opportunities to participate and to succeed

in conclusion, to develop social interactions with our students and making them partakers of them is a way to show that we treat everyone with respect and fairness

what makes great teachers great?

I think without a doubt, teaching is one of the most complicated jobs today, there are many demands and much is expected of teachers. but I really think that when talking about a great teacher, we must refer to all the qualities that as teachers we should have: for example, the work of a great teacher begins with knowing your students, know their names, what are their expectations.

Moreover, a great teacher should establish strong ties of friendship with his/her students, there should be a good teacher-student relationship, so that the teaching-learning process takes place in a more peaceful way.

Also, every teacher to be considered great, he/she needs to be well prepared and organized, knows what to teach, to be a responsible teacher for every good teacher need to be early in the classroom and ready to teach.

If you have these characteristics i think you might be considered a great teacher

PRE-REQUISITES OF EFFECTIVE TEACHING

Añadir leyenda

What´s the most important pre-requisite teaching?
Thinking which is the most important prerequisite that every teacher must have is a little hard because there are many that every good teacher to teach art lover should have against the teaching-learning process.

But very well among the many prerequisites that as we have good teachers is one that undoubtedly is of great importance and relevance that should be present in the teachers and I think it is:
content knowledge, so if you as teachers do not know, do not control what we teach, nor do we know the structure of the content we develop, we will not know what to do and our work maybe you feel frustrated.

On the contrary, if you are a teacher who is very familiar with the contents of which will have to teach, knows the structures, rules and everything regarding such content, you will find it easier to teach that content because when you know perfectly well what want to convey to your students, you enjoy teaching and they enjoy learning, but as teachers we know that some students and by nature do not like the subject of English, therefore, we must find the techniques and dynamics appropriate to motivate them to learn.

In conclusion, I think reading this chapter we note that there are many prerequisites that every good teacher should manage to develop effective teaching.

If, as novice teachers, we are not familiar with the contents that we have to teach, do not know the structure concerned, rules be assured not know what to do, therefore, a suggestion to all prospective teachers, study well the content, learn well structures and rules so that when we develop our classes these are enjoyable for both students and us.
